Navigating Development Milestones
Children are naturally curious and learn through exploration and movement. Sometimes, however, children have difficulty with their milestones, and it can be hard to pinpoint exactly how to help. It can be incredibly frustrating to know your child needs support but not get the clear assistance you need to move forward.
If you are noticing any of the following challenges, you are not alone—and physical therapy can help.
Is your little one having difficulty with...
- Gross Motor Skills: Tummy time, rolling, crawling, sitting, standing, or walking.
- Advanced Movement: Going up and down stairs, running, or jumping.
- Early Development: Holding their head up, or breast/bottle feeding comfortably.
Do you notice your child...
- Preference or Alignment: Has a head turning preference, flat spots on their head, or keeps their neck or body bent to one side?
- Asymmetry: Uses one hand or one leg significantly more than the other?
- Muscle Tone: Feels tense when changing clothes/diapers, or conversely, feels loose, floppy, or needs a lot of support when being held?
- Feeding & Digestion: Gets frustrated with breast/bottle feeding, can't stay latched or finish a feed within 20 minutes, or has a difficult time pooping (infrequent/constipated)?
- Daily Routines & Energy: Has a difficult time sleeping, gets tired very easily, keeps their hands fisted or toes curled, or falls and trips frequently?
When a child is comfortable and confident in their body, they are able to move better, grow, and learn.

Be Kind, Be You.
Welcome! I’m Dr. Hazel.
Hello! I am Dr. Hazel Legaspi, founder of Holistic Movement Physical Therapy, Inc.
I am a physical therapist specializing in pediatric movement and development. I understand that every child is unique and that movement involves so much more than just improving strength and range of motion. True progress takes putting your child at ease with how they feel in their body, sparking an internal motivation to move and play.
The Foundation: Connection & Regulation
I believe it all starts with a foundation built on connection and nervous system regulation. It begins with how we engage and interact with each other as caregivers, and how we interact with our children.
For effective changes and progress toward goals, we have to be partners in your child's health—together. Together, we will identify, honor, and respect your child's unique qualities and strengths.

My Approach: Looking at the Complete Person
I have been working with newborns and young children in a variety of settings since 2010. As a functional movement expert, I use a holistic approach—this means I look at your child as a complete person, rather than focusing solely on their limitations in strength and flexibility.
Healing, learning, and development require a nurtured, focused, and holistic approach.
My experience has shown me just how incredibly resilient babies, young children, and their families are. Every "kiddo" deserves individualized care that goes deeper than what traditional facilities typically offer.
The Synergy of Science and Gentle Healing
I am a lover of knowledge and continuously seek to improve my therapeutic skills to enhance the synergy between the nervous system and the rest of the body.
- The Nervous System is the cornerstone of movement.
- Fascia serves as the crucial bridge in how the body feels, moves, and heals.
Without optimal nervous system regulation and fascial health, the connection within the body can become stagnant, leading to dysfunction. To support this deep physical healing, I am trained in gentle fascial modalities:
- John F. Barnes' Myofascial Release (JFB MFR®)
- The Gillespie Approach: Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT)
Supporting You,
the Caregiver
Having a child who faces mobility challenges can be deeply overwhelming, especially when they are so little. I am also a passionate mental health advocate. I believe our own mental health as caregivers has a huge impact on how our children feel and behave. To make the greatest impact in our lives and theirs, we must start within.
I am here to make your journey toward your child's physical well-being and improved mobility smoother. By guiding your child into a state of curiosity, exploration, and engagement, we create a feeling of safety.
When a child feels safe, regulated, and met with kindness, they are free to simply be themselves... curious, exploring, learning, and thriving.
